Christian Acres Youth Home & Ministry

In 1998 God laid upon Pastor Leo DeLorge’s heart the concept of Christian Acres Youth Home. The Scripture that was laid upon his heart was Psalm 27:10 “When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.”!

With that impression from God, Christian Acres Youth Home was established.

We know that Satan’s attack upon the family grows more severe each passing day. He has set out to destroy the home completely by causing problems between husband and wife, between children and parents, and in the lives of the children themselves.

God has called us to help rebuild the broken lives of these children and to rebuild the bridge between home, parent and child.

We believe the only way to do this is through God’s Word.    In II Timothy 3:16-17, we are told that, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”

The Word of God also tells us in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

We believe in order to train up a child, they must be trained in the nurture and admonition of the Lord in a Christian atmosphere. To do this, we must do what our Lord Jesus Christ tells us in John 8:31-32, “…If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

We want to be able to meet the needs of the children that God places within our care, both physical and spiritual. In order to do this, we must have God’s divine guidance. He tells us in Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Children must be developed in four areas of their lives to be balanced and stable people. Luke 2:52 tells us that, “And Jesus increased in wisdom, and stature, and in favour with God and man.” This shows us that our Lord was developing in four areas:

  • Mentally (intellect). He increased in “wisdom”
  • Physically. He increased “in stature”
  • Spiritually. He increased in favour with “God”
  • Socially. He increased in favour with “Man”

No child is a fully developed, balanced individual unless we deal with Body, Soul and Spirit. At Christian Acres Youth Home, we will strive to develop these precious children in all these areas. Our command to care for the children is a Biblical mandate, not an option. The proper way to develop their lives is given in the example of Jesus Christ. To the amazement of all involved from every walk of life, the success in helping these children through Christian Acres Youth Home, will be to the Glory of God. We believe whatever success we will enjoy in this wonderful ministry will be because of our obedience to the Scriptures in the raising of these children.
